I forgot about Windows 10 and 11 and don't use it anymore. Why does Valve support Linux? Do you think that Linux is a pointless system? I use Linux (EndeavourOS) and plays steam and GOG (only linux native) games. You forgot about Steam Deck with Linux (SteamOS). It's own open-source 'build it yourself' nature shoots it in the foot there. That is why Linux hasn't taken off really, as a general consumer platform. It might work for some games, but it will not for others. There are far too many variables involved for a 'one click' option to be a silver bullet. The fact of the matter is that porting a game that you didn't explicitly design to be cross-platform in the first place, down the line after it's been mostly developed, is a pain in the ass. It has nothing to do with 'strength' or 'competence', or any of the other BS you want to try to use to paint the developers poorly over the matter. They had the strength to do for macOS, but not enough for Linux. Originally posted by Bounty Hunter:I noticed that Prodeus officially supports MacOS. Linux in comparison is a TOTAL mess of mismatched standards, library support, and problems. MacOS at least has a single distribution approach with tight standards in practice available. I noticed that Prodeus officially supports MacOS. Unity's core prefabs being able to export to Linux doesn't mean that every game is built in a way to make it happen. There are a fair number of structures you have to build with OS support in mind, from the start to get them working.
